Expansion and Contraction

This floor was a complete failure.  This was caused by thermal expansion and contraction

Almost 80% of the tiles came up in whole pieces

All of the thin set had to be removed to prepare for the anti-fracture membrane

The anti-fracture membrane needed to be applied.  The concrete floor had many cracks in it

This is Kevin Mau of Mau's Mosaic's. Kevin and his crew set the floor this time doing it the right way.
